Xeele Neelen is in Freeport learning the (ling business. A Mrs. Danekas and family arrived here yesterday from Germany. A son of 10 years fell over board and was lost. They were on the water 25 days, and had a rough voyage. Yesterday was Decoration Day. Owing to the rain there was no turn out as is generally the case here.The heroic dead,though remembered hymany, but few here did anything towards the memorial day. To Misses Jennie Geiger and Irene Galpiu belong the laurels, for their devotion to the long since dead, but the ever returning memorial dav. They alone, made crossesand gathered dowers, and worked them into wreaths. I. A. Gal pin went alone in the rain, and Jplnced the tokens of remembrance upon the graves of his fallen comrades.The continued cold weather the past week was very unfavorable to the corn crop in particular, and to tender vegetables and fruit in general.
