We are sure those debates will prove interesting to every reader.Mr. Twkboy, it will be observed, contended manfully for our riphts, and has succeeded in obtaining the assent of Congress to a bill as liberal in its provisions as any ever passed for ihe admission of a new state.— For his untiring zeal in their behalf, the people will award him just praise.The Sentinel U Gazette thus glances at the more prominent provisions of the bill :All that Wisconsin asked far has been granted, and something more. The constitution adopted by our people, has been approved. The boundaries to which our convention assented, have been fixed and estab-helud. The vexed question of canal lands has been satisfactorily adjusted, the settler secqred in his rights, and provision made for refunding the excess money (#1 25 per acre) heretofore exacted in payment for land on the even-numbered sections. The terms of the grants, both for the “Rock River Canal” lands and the tf Fox and Wisconsin River” improvements, have been alteted so as to conform to the wishes of those immediately interested, as well as to the expressed desire of Ihe stale at large, All this our people, through their late convention, asked for,and all this congress has promptly and liberally granled. But they have even done bettor by u- than we asked or expected. Upon Mr. Twepdv’s suggestion, they haye given Wisconsin three, members of congress after the 4th of M-uch next. To no other new slate has such a boon been granted.
