An hour-long replay and explanation of the ordination ceremony for permanent dea cons which took place at the Shrine of la Vir gen de San Juan del Valle on May 17 will be shown on KGBT Channel 4 on Saturday, May 31, from 7 to 8 p.m. Prime time was purchased so that Catholics throughout the Valley might be able to watch the ceremony and come to an understanding of the place of the permanent deacons in the Church. Father Joseph Delaney, chancellor, will be commentator on the program. Deacon Thomas M. Billimek will be or dained to the priesthood by Bishop John J. Fitzpatrick on Saturday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Church,Edinburg. Foresight, a three-day program (Tuesday morning to Thursday evening) will be spon sored at the San Juan Retreat House in four sessions during June. For youngsters from 9 to 14 years of age, the program is aimed at assisting retreatants in broadening their Christian awareness. Journey In, a summer workshop for young men interested in the priesthood of religious life, is being offered during the first two weeks of June to provide an experience in Christian development and seminary life. Life, Death and Transition, a workshop given by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, M. D., au thor of the best seller, On Death and Dying, will be presented at the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium June 25 from 7:45 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $15. Emerging Artist grants are available to producers of Hispanic film who are not yet professionals but are seeking to develop their film-making abilities. ‘Grants of up to $2,000 are available for 8mm, video, or short 16mm films by emerging film or video artists,” said Adan Medrano.
