DARLENE SCHROEDER. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sdiroeder of rural Concord, received a $500 Illinois Elks Association scholarship from the Most Valuable Student contest. Miss Schroeder represented the Beardstown Elks Lodge 1007. She is shown with Del Schmitz, youth activities chairman. To qualify for state level, Miss Schroeder was one of three winners for the Beardstown lodge, competing with students from that city, Rush-ville, Mt. Sterling, Ashland, Triopia, Chandlerville, Astoria, Meredosia and Virginia.
