Eleven students who came through the Center for Confin ing Education at Sarah Lawrence College will receive their bac calaureate degrees from the Col lege this June. They were honor ed at the annual Esther Ray Shenbush Scholarship. Tuncheon held on the terrace of the Presi dent’ s house on Monday, May 2th ! “This luncheon, held at the end of May each year, not only pro vides funds for loans. to stu dents currently enrolled at the Center, but acts as a reunion é ‘or all of the women who have attended the Center since it start s in 1962, it gives the new stud ents an opportunity to ‘meet with students who have, or are completing their studies and to earn about the many ways they, are using their education. Those who will receive their diplomas are: Mrs. Greta Cohan and Mrs. Irene Metzger of White Plains, Mrs.Maryke Gilmore from Chappaqua, Mrs. Patricia ner from North Tarrytown, Mrs. Irene Jarashow from Fair lawn, NJ, Mrs. Barbara Ket chum from Bronxville, Mrs. Molly Lemon from Pound Ridge, Mrs. Kathe Lipin from Scars dale, Mrs. Helaine Schwabach from Larchmont, Mrs. Christine Stiassni from Rye and Mars. Sloria Weiss from Pleasantville, 8 pm. in Palmer Hall, Bronx ville. Dr. Alvin Goodman, chief urologist at Grasslands Hospital ,who has been developing a di alysis machine under Federal grant, will discuss this lifesav ing Kidney mechanism and its use in the home. In the forsee able future the Public Health Nurse will be able to assist the family in the care of the patient, using this device in the home environment. At this meeting James Rela will be completing two ef fective and rewarding years as president of the Board of Direc tors Under his leadership the [Board met the first challenges of Medicare, Home Health Aides ‘became a reality, and other im provements were made enabling PHNO to grow in service to the community. ‘The new president will be Dr. Alvin Jacobson, of Tuckahoe, who has long been active in the field of Public Health. He will be assisted by George Martin of Bronxville, first vice president Mrs. Henry Hempstead of Bronx ville, second vice president; Mrs John Whitehead of ‘Tuckahoe, ‘ecretary; James Reid of East chester, treasurer.
