Hopkins of 119 22nd St., Nederland, became the bride of A/2C Joseph Clifford James, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. James of Ay-nor, S. C., in St. Charles Catholic Church on May 17 at 5P* Rev. J. Dempsey officiated before an altar decorated with basket arrangements of white gladioli and yellow pom pon mums flanked by standing floor baskets of the same flowers. Traditional nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Marvin Barnes at the piano.The bride’s dress of Alen-con lace over taffeta was fashioned with a sculptured bodice that featured a round neckline with a deep V at the back, and long tapered sleeves. The bell-shaped skirt was of waltz length. A fingertip veil of illusion fell from a tiara of seed pearls and she carried a crescent bouquet of phaleo-nopsls orchids set in white carnations..Mrs. Betty Malone of Lake Charles, La., attended as matron of honor wearing a two-piece tunic-style beige suit with which she wore a small beige hat and matching accessories. She carried a yellow glamellia.Richard R. Hopkins, father of the bride, attended Mr. James as best man.A reception was held In the home of the bride’s parents where the bride’s table was laid with a white linen cutwork cloth and held a yellow and white floral centerpiece. The tiered wedding cake had pastel yellow decorations and was topped with a miniature bride and wedding bells.Mrs. C. J. Pinell, Jr., of Port Arthur, aunt of the bride, served the cake and Gaydell Simoneaux presided at the punch bowl. Guests were registered by Cheryl Pinell ofMrs. Bobby R. Hopkins of 119 22nd St. Mr. Herrin’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Herrin of 2803 Canal St., all of Nederland.Rev. J. P. Owens officiated before an archway of greenery entwined with pink roses. She wore white accessories and carried a crescent arrangement of white carnations.Jody Burrell ofPortNeches attended his cousin as best man. Guests were escorted to their seats by Warren Reed,Jr., and Raymond Carl Herrin,brother of the bridegroom.Mrs. Jerry Tompkins, sister of the bridegroom, was hostess for a reception in her home on Avenue A. The bride’s table was laid with a lace cloth and centered with the bride’s bouquet. The tiered wedding cake was topped with a miniature bridal couple standing in a large heart.Mrs. Warren Reed served the cake and Linda Rose Pruitt presided at the punch bowl. Jesse Ruth Koonce of Port Acres, cousin of the bride, had charge of the guest book. Others in the houseparty included Mrs. R. C. Herrin, Judy Ann Herrin, mother and sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. J. R.
