This picture of the then 5 weeks old babe with his mother was taken at Barnwell Manor, Northamptonshire, on January 22.NEWS THIS WEEK-AND WHYMR CHURCHILL — for reluctantly giving 5 minutes of his time to being photographed afler making his great speech in the House of Commons, Ottawa, on December 30. In the chambers of the Speaker, Mr Glenn, the portraits were taken by Yousuf Karsh, of Ottawa, who gives the following description: He said he would stand for one photograph only, arid grudgingly stuck his cigar in his mouth and prepared to pose. But I had prepared an ashtray in advance and said so. I gave him no choice, and removed the cigar from his mouth (I had no Sooner placed it in the ashtray than it was immediately picked up and pocketed as a souvenir by one of those present). After it was all over, Mr Churchill shook hands with me most amiably and said, Well, you can certainly make a roaring lion stand still! Karsh is regarded as being one of the best photographers in Canada.
