D. RB. McKee, of the Chamber of Commerce, with the co-operation of Thomas Nelson, koy scout organi zer, and aid from the city in the form of a truck and grader, has been at work grading the landing field near the state university to be used by the government air mail service. The field will be in excel lent condition for the test flight which it is expected will be made within a week or so. All rocks will be cleared from the field by the Boy Scouts. A rectangle 600 feet by 1,200 feet is being leveled. A 100-foot circle of bricks painted white will be placed in the center and the four corners will be marked with whitewashed panels. Albuquerque will be the only step scheduled between Omaha and los Angeles, Secretary Watkin s tated. An effort will be made to have an Albuquerque man appoint ed official mail carrier to make the trip between here and Los Angeles. The test flight has been author ized by Postmaster General Burte son, Mr. Watkins said.
