Helgelein. lie neans and manner of such killing b ing lo the grand jury unknown.”Appended thereto is the indictment of Lamp here as an accessory, it being charged that “Lamphero unlawfully,purposely, wilfully, and feloniously didiarbor, conceal, and assist Bello Gun-:iess in the disposition of the body of Andrew Iv. Helgelein, with the intent that he, Ray Lamphere, might escape roin detection, arrest, capture, and punishment, and Lamphcre did assist Belle Gunncss in the disposition of tho pody of Andrew K. Helgelein after lie, Lamphere, well knew and was informed :hat Belle Gunncss had killed and mur-lercd Andrew Iv. Helgelein.”On the indictments are indorsed the names of Albert F. Smutzer, William. E. Anstiss, John Rye, Charles Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Daniel Hutson. Roy Vlarr, William Humphrey, Fred Vorhes, ind David Havens, as witnesses.Lmnjihcrc Sot Arraigned.Lamphere was not arraigned, and this Evill probably not be done until the cases ire set for trial. Bench warrants, issued by Judge J. C. Richter, were served jpon Lamphere in jail. He expressed jut slight surprise, as the returning of the ndictments had been anticipated. Ia :hc arson case, it was noted that bond •ould be furnished in the sum of $5;000, put as the bond is refused in the other six indictments, there is no chance for Lamphere to even figure on availing iiimself of tho former.“I shall ask to have the cases set down ror early trial this term,” said rrose-?utor Smith. ‘‘The State is ready for trial at once, but 011 account of other criminal work, which will take up all of next week, it will be impossible to reach the Lamphere cases until in June.”However, preparations to prosecute Lamphcre have been commenced.
