THE UNION PARTY.Call h Convention to Nominate n Ticket.On the 20th of May hi Okmulgee, Creek Nation, representative citizens who in the last general election voted respectively for Holey McIntosh and L. O Perryman for the chieftaincy, met in the capitol building and on motion unanimously agreed and united under name of the Union Party.The object of the union is to engage in the approaching general election for chief of the nation and members of the national council in accordance with the constitution, usage and custoois of the Creek people.An organization was formed by the election of Alex Davis of Okmulgee, president, and John A. Jacobs of Holdenville, vice-president, and II. Marcey Harjo. secretary. Oo a call of the mamea of the towns, eighteen au-awered aa follows:Coweta, Tuckabatchee, Tuhvertbloc-co, Big Spring, Tuskegee, Arbeka Deep Fork, Arbeka North Fork, Arbeka Tuidegee, Arbecochee, Kialigee, Hu lichee chuppa, Tookparfka, Nuyaka, Arks. Colored, Hillabee Canadian, EufaulaCanadian, Choyarherand Hickory Ground.In pursuance of the objects of this meeting it was unanimously agreed that a nominating convention of qualified voters of the Nation shall meet in the capitol at Okmulgee on the 17th day otJune next, at 9 o’clock a. m, and nominate a candidate for the chieftancy and second chieftancy respectively of the Muskogee Nation, to be voted for in the election in September next.At said meeting will also be prepared and published a concise statement of the objects and principles upon which union and co-operation of all citizens is earnestly incited, and it is earnestly desired that everybody coni9 who can, and take a part in this, which is to be one of the last acts of our closing political drama.Respectfully,ALEXANDER DAVIS, JOHN A.
