Golden Wedding.—Tuesday, May *J 20th, was one of the beautiful days that * the good people of Windham are premit- a edtoeDjoy. On this day, the children, 1 grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren, brothers, sisters and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Tenney, met at their red- J dence in Windham, to celebrate their golden wedding, it being fifty years since 1 they were married. They have had ten children, nine are now living, all were present on thisjoyful occasion. The number of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren present were forty two, and there were four grandchildren absent; whole number present was sixty-four. The children and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Tenney, left as a token of their regards, the amount of $55. Mrs. Tenney’s only brother who lives so far away, could not consistently be present on this occasion, yet he and his family remembered his sister by sending her a very nice dress, also his brother-in-law by sending him a nice cane.In this family circle for the past fifty years, death has not entered but three times ; first taking a son, next a grandson and last a son’s wife. Yet these parents have often been called to mourn for dear loved one? who have been called home to rest. Mr. Tenney has buried a father and mother, one sister and one brother. Mrs. Teuney has buried a lather and mother who died with the small pox, two sisters and oi.e brother in the past fifty years. After partaking of refreshments from a bountifully loaded table, furnished by the friends, they all went out to enjoy, the pure air (which is ever found in old Windham,) and there listened to very appropriate and interesting remarks by Dea. Asa T. Goold. * *
