Scuojdk.—A man named Addison Vaught, from the vicinity of Elizabeth, in Wirt county, committed suicide at the American Hotel, in this town, early on Monday -morning last, by inflicting a frightful gash upon his throat. He completely severed the windpipe and osophagus, but failed to cut either of the main arteries of the neck. In this condition it was not possible for him to recover, though the best surgical aid was procured. He lingered till Wednesday morning, when he died. The cause of this calamitous event is attributed to some domestic difficulty, which we did not care to inquire into.— The unfortunate man came down from Wirt to seek employment, and during the two days prior to the commission of the fatal deed his manner was abstracted and gloomy. A brother who was in attendance upon him, has since become a maniac.—[Parkersburg News.
