Todd Baran is student of the weekBy MARILYN PARISEHOWLAND-Todd Baran, son of Virginia and Bill Baran, is a senior at Howland High School.Todd was a Boys’ State Delegate, and junior and senior “Banana (Powder Puff Cheerleader).He is amember of the National Honor Society, French Club, Alpine Club and varsity basketball and baseball.“Ever since I was eight years old, and became a member of the Howland Athletic Club Gadget Ball Program, sports have been a very important part of my life. Iprogressed through all the stages of baseball as a catcher, the position I presently play for the Howland High School Varsity Team,” said Baran.Swimming is also a sport that he enjoys. Todd swam for the Elks Swim Team for several years and now is becoming more interested in diving. He feels that it is a challenge.His basketball interest was developed through the elementary program directed by Coach Andres. “It prepared me for the experience of playing high school basketball.
