The Pine wood Derby , was an enticement for parents to | watch the boys race the cars, each _ hand made.As a preliminary each Den es-_ tablished a champion with Kevin , Harmon going to the finals for Den . 4, Brad Cune the champion for , Den 5, Hank Lavcry representing r Den 6, Curtis Clark carrying the honors for Den 7, Rusty Anderson from Den 9, and Bobby Bell going ^ to the post for Den 8. These contestants went into a heat with Kevin Harmon, Brad Cune, and Bobby - Bell finalists.In the trophy dash Kevin Harmon placed third, Brad Cune came in second and’ Bobby Bell was the checkered flag' champion!The opening Flag ceremony was given by the Cubs of Mrs. Powers’ Den 7. Charles Turner was introduced as the new eubmasleri by Albert. Anderson, retiring Cub-master. IITurner presented the Silver Arrow to the Wolf Badge to Ralph Dins more and Dicky Kopp. The Bear Budge and certificate vv a s awarded to Michael Carnahan and Timothy Muehmore. The Gold Arrow Lo the Bear badge went to Ralph. Dennis Lohman had earned his Lion .Badge and certificate.Mark Wentz was given his Den-her Stripe and the assistant Benner Stripe was presented lo Pat Rafter and Dennis Lohman. One-year pins were presented to Randy Speaker and Marvin Thomas, The Den Mothers were presented the Den Chief cords for David Johnson and George Carter who attached them to the Scouts shoulders.
