Aboard the USS escort patrol vessel No. 898 when she returned to the United States was Lt. (ig) Harold F. Tebbetts, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. Tebbetts at 44921 Nordhoff St. Van Nuys. While in the Far East the ship took part im training exercises off the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. During her last assign ment before returning to the US, the ship rescued four Korean Na tionalsis adrift via fishing craft for five days. The teacue was accomplished during a heavy gale and extremely rough seas.
