The pupils were through with their studies Thursday afternoon. Friday was devoted to picnic parties, each teacher taking her class into the woods for the day.The graduates from the High school this year included Mary Baroni, Lawrence Dever, Dominica Mattivi and John Williams. The commencement exercises were held Thursday night at the Faussone theater, attended by a large crowd, and the program was as follows:1 “CroonyMelody;” 2 “When a Girl Whose Heart is Breaking.” 3 “Uncle Reuben”. ..H. OrchestraThe closing exercises of the Eighth grade of the Marble schools were held Tuesday night at the High hchool building and attended by a large audience. OrchestraATHLETIC CLUB GIVES ANINTERESTING EXHIBITIONA good sized crowd of menfolks assembled at the Marble Athletic club gym Tuesday night in answer to a general invitation extended through the columns of The Booster, to witness some of the stunts members of that organization were capable of executing. The several athletic appliances and their uses were demonstrated as follows: Turning bars: John Tischhauser, Dr. F. B. Stephenson and “Vic” Borstner.Horizontal bars: Dr. Stephenson,I. M. Kobey and John Tischhauser. Chest weights: Wm. von Mueller. Punching bag: I. M. Kobey.A decidedly clever tumbing exhibition was given by F. Meyers, I. M. Kobey and Frank Brooks.A fast give and take two-round boxing bout with Frank Brooks and John Royther as principals, was one of the pleasing events. Other short bouts wer£ L. Dever vs. C. Dever and “Vic” Borstner vs. F. Meyers.F Meyers Geo. McCoy, I. M. Kobey and Vic Borstner contributed to the evening’s entertainment with songs and readings.A lunch consisting of sandwiches, cake and coffee made the hit of the evening.Eight new members were added to the club roll at the close of the entertainmentPresident Jack Chandler, to whom all credit for the present existence of the club is due, announces that other and better athletic exhibitions are to be given in the near future.
