To Be Opened by Eighteen-Hole Blind Bogey Match to Be Played Friday, May 30. The opening tournament of the Eau Claire Country Club golf Hinks will be played Friday, Decoration Day. An 18-hole blind bogey match play tourna ment will be played, open to all mem bers of the club. The entrance fee will be two new golf balls. Three prizes will be awarded. Blind bogey matches are very popu lar in the leading golf clubs both East and West. The bogey score for the Eau Claire Kings is follows: 4, 8, 4, 4, 4, 6, 6, 3, 6—40. Players are paired off in twos each player playing against the bogey score with a handicap allow ance. The word “blind” comes from the fact the players while having a set score to play against are still playing an imaginary opponent The one who wins the most holes over bogey will be declared the winner. The entry list is large including the leading business men of the city. The people of Eau Claire are cordially in vited. Heretofore when tournaments have been held on the Country Club links, the attending gallery have been small. The links are now in splendid con dition, and some very fine golf is an ticipated. The links from, now on will be the scene of many tournaments and match plays. The Eau Claire Country Club’s club house project has been delayed by the fact that it is dificult to agree upon a site.
