At the mass meeting held last Thursday ‘ night there was a clear expression of sentiment, which was all in favor of paying $3,000 for the building. Mr. Walsh has made two trips to Madison on this same business, and is straightening up the work that the town paid E. C. Alvord several hundred dollarsfor “doing’’ two years ago. Mr. Walsh informs us that the creditors of the Prentice Brownstone Company have practically completed a deal whereby the Company will be re organized as the Monolith Quarry, and will be operated by Fred. E. Goddard for them. Mr. Walsh secured an order from the Court declaring null and void the tax certificates issued against the quarry, and commanding the receiver to pay to the town of Washburn $2,200 within sixty days.
