Ray Eden, 53 Dies At HomeRay Alfred Eden, S3, of Riv-erview Addition, died at his home at 7:16 p.m. Wednesday, May 20.A retired printer, Eden had worked for The San Saba News Star about 18 years. Ill health caused his retirement several years ago.*was %orn JarW i.2/1917,Ha*W, ..Oklahoma,the son of Samuel Eden and Effie Martin Eden. He came to San Saba at an early age and had been here most of Mb life. He married Virginia Gat-liff Dec. 20, 1936, here in San Saba. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife;three sons, Billy Ray Eden of San Saba, Jimmy Charles Eden of .Stanton and Jerry Dean Eden of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Lowe and Sharon Kay Eden, ;both of San Saba; three 'brothers, Willard Eden of Stonewall, Okla., Arl Eden of Corpus Christi and Carl Eden of Kingsland; and nine grandchildren.Funeral rites were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 22, in Mow-ell-Doran Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W. L. -White.Burial was in City Cemetery under the direction of Jlowell-Doran Funeral Home.Pallbearers included Ray.mond Nicks, Pudge Cage, Edward Ragsdale, Earl iGatliff, Sid Verette and Sonny Gage.
