Takes Second In 25-Mile Auto Race At Bedford. “Poe” Oldham, local driver, took second place in the 25-mile event of the automobile races held Sunday in Bedford. Doe, driving the car of J. W. Spears, Brownstown, ran the last lap on a flat tire, but finished 30 feet ahead of his man. The race was won by Arthur Chevrolet’s car. Second, money was #125, Dee won the third five-mile race for a $25 purse. The first five-mile event was won by Bill Cummings, of Indianapolis, and the second by Exe ter of Bloomington.
