After his ailment he was at ofice taken to tin* Toiiro inlinuary where* he lingered until his demise. Deceased was an exemplary citizen and was a son of the venerable Mrs. M. (i. Morrell, and a brother of Mr. Ralph Morrell, lie was horn in New Orleans on January 23111. 1X37 and spent the greater portion of his life in our midst. In the year 1X7(». he accepted employment as lie examiner for the Southern Pacific Railroad when I In* Morgan's Louisiana Texas C.o. were first laying steel near Rnvon Sale. This oosition he filled uninterruptedly without taking a vacation of a singh day and remained in the employ of that railroad corporation until his sudden death. On W«*d-| nesday night his remains wen* hrought to New Iheria for interment and Thursday morning at ten oYloek the funeral service’s were conducted from St. Peter's Out hoi ic church in the presence of a numher of relatives and friends.
