Governor Hanly Was Out witted by the Gamblers. DENS FOUND EMPTY All Gaming Devices Had Been Carted Away From Al Brown's Casino and the Colonial. French Lick, Ind., May 28.—Gov ernor Hanly took the matter of clos ing the French Lick gambling in his own hands when he ordered Attor ney-General Bingham to make a raid on Al Brown's casino. A num ber of police, dressed in citizen's clothes and accompanied by some citizens from the central part of the State, arrived here yesterday even ing. They went with search war rants to the Brown Hotel and the Colonial, but found the gambling machines had been taken out yester day afternoon and moved away in wagons. Word had been sent by wire, from Indianapolis that the Attorney-Gen eral and police would make a raid on the gambling dens, and it was an nounced yesterday afternoon, when the last game was played that there would be no more gambling this sea son. When the men first entered the casino, Al Brown objected to their making a search, but finally consent ed when they told him they would break down the doors. Nothing was found, however, and the Governor's efforts were all in vain.
