Gillani, fourteen-year-old son of Jacob B. Glllam, and /ountn of Arthur Glllam, of this city.The lad, together with an elderbrother and several companions, hadgone to Wild Cat creek, a short distance from their homes, to ipend an hour swimming and bathing- They were just below a dam and at a place where the water was very deep, a large hole haying been washed out. After staying In the water for some time, the boys all retired except Mil* ton, who persisted in staying in the water a while longer, but sad to relate, he remained there until taken out a corpse. He was sucked under by the strong current and before assls-tanee reached him life wus extinct. The alarm was given and a party of boatnieu went out in search, and soon succeeded iu ruising (he body and conveying it to the residence of his parents.The story is a sad one and the parents and relatives have the tendered sympathies of everybody in that I !ommunity.The funeral was conducted at the family residence on Sunday at 2 o'clock by Rev. J. W. Stark, of this city, and was largely attended. Interment in the Bell cemetery.
