The murders of these families, forms the fourth that it has been our painful duty to record, since the 23d ult. in that settlement, and it is time some steps were taken by our citizens, to prevent them in future.Since the above was in type, we learn by the arrival of the steamer Irwinton, that the house of Mr. Thomas, situated about three miles from the river, in the neighborhood of Blountstown, was attacked, and every house on the premises, burnt to the ground. The persons, however, employed about the farm, heard of their approach in time to make their escape. This party is said to number from sixteen to twenty.
