John Joseph Foley, 71, who had lived at 114 Douglas street in Hammond for many years, died at 1 :30 o’clock this morning at Mercy Hospital in Gary. He has been ill for a week.A pensioner of the Erie railroad because of his 30 years service as an engineer and a member of the Order of Kailroad Engineers and the J-uhr Court of Foresters, Mr. Foley was widely known in Hammond.He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wren Lager, Chicago, and Mrs. James Carroll, Gary, and a son, John, Hammond.The body will lie in state at Dalton’s funeral parlor on Calumet ave. after 10 o’clock Wednesday morning. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
