The death of B. T. Carr marks the passing of a former pioneer citizen of this city. He came to Winters in the year 1909 and with his son, T. G. Carr, engaged in the grocery business for several years. He sold his possessions here and for the past few years has been living with his daughter at Mt. Sylvan. The infirmities of old age so im paired his faculties that he was brought back here just a few weeks ago and quietly fell asleep Sunday May 22. Bynum Turner Carr was born in the state of Tennessee, March 16, 1851. With his parents he moved to Louisiana when he was rather young and later they agoved to Tex as. He was converted. “Sand joined the Methodist church at Groesbeck at the age of nineteen and was mar ried two years later to Miss Augusta Morris at Groesbeck and from this union four children were born, one dying in infancy. He was an up right, honorable and estimable gen tleman and worthy of the high re gard in which he was always held. Surviving him are three children, Tom G. Carr and Miss Francis Carr of Winters; Mrs. Ora Carr Patrick of Mt. Sylvan; one brother, Rev. C. C. Carr of Snyder and two sisters, Mrs. S. F. Carter of San Antonio and Mrs. L. E. Taylor of Bruceville; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church Monday aft ernow at 3:30 conducted by Rev. Gid J. Bryan, and interment was made in Fairview cemetery. Active pall bearers were B. G. Owens, Bert E. Low, J. C. Meredith, H. H. Cryer, Walter Brian, Wal lace Oliver, and E. A. Shepperd. Honorary pall bearers were, W. W. Poe, H. L. Chapman, H. K. Reid, L. E. Low, J. R. Cook and J. W. Copeland. The sympathy of all who knew the bereaved family goes out to them in this sad hour.
