Pregnancy offends British tasteAmanda sTErro may justbe the world’s most famous pregnant teenager, at least on television. The Toronto actress, who plays the expecting Grade 8 student Spike cm CBC’s hit Degrassi Junior High, goes to England next month to promote the show in the wake of a BBC decision not to air four episodes about her character’s pregnancy. Apparently, British kids aren't as perturbed about the storyline as their elders: the show is the. highest-rated kids program in Britain, pulling in six million viewers. It also airs in West Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Greece, Portugal, Australia and the U.S. (where viewers don’t even mind the occasional Canadian “eh” in the script), and has just been picked up by China.□□a“We don’t have formula, like for new car. We don’t say, next year all models will have air bag or something, you know?” — Italian photographer Pompeo Posar, explaining in his heavy Italian accent the process involved in choosing Playboy models. Posar was in Detroit on the weekend taking photos as part of tryouts for the magazine’s 35th anni-Stepto (right) investigates pregnancy tests with friends on Degrassi Junior High.
