10 YEARS AGO TODAY From the Files of The Independence Examiner The gold medal which the Board of Education annually awards to the highest rank ing graduate _ scholastically was presented to Elizabeth Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry D. Tucker, 825 N. Main, at the 69th annual commencement of the Wil liam Chrisman High School last night. Dr. O. L. Plucker and Joe Herndon will help Dr. Carl E. Wagner, superintendent of the tornado-stricken Ruskin school district, and members of his board present a plea for federal school aid in Washington next week. Con tributions to the relief fund exceed $500,000. A car belonging to Aubrey E. Schull of 7118S. Pope left the road and crashed through the entrance of the Style Rite Upholstery Store at the cor ner of Alton and Leslie. No one was injured. Schull ap parently lost control and end ed up with his car completely inside the store.
