Adkii^William, M; Adlw^ 82, died Tlhursday at Luthi^^ Hdspital in Port Dodge after an illness of several years.Funeral services were held Saturday, a family service at 11:30 a.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home and final riteis at 4 p.m. at First Christian Church. Burial was in the Laurens cemetery.Bom in KentucicyWilliiam Mitchell Adkins, son of Miles and Lucinda Robbins Adkins, was bom May 1, 1878, in Morgan County, Kentucky. He lived for a number of years at West Liberty, Ky., was baptised in Licking River and became .a member of the Christian Churdh in 1904.On Dec. 8, 1906, he wasunited in marriage to Adella Smith. They were the parents of six children. In 1913 ihe moved his family to Farmer O'^, 111., where he engaged lin farmjing. In 1920 they came to Iowa and settled near Sioux Rapids, and in 1924 moved to the Laurens community.He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, and by all of this three sisters and four brothers. Survivors Include his wife; four daughters, Amanda (Mrs. Richard Weeks Sr.) of Laurens, Mrs. Clarice Tool of Laurens, Catherine (Mrs. Glenn Dahlberg) of Laurens and Margery (Mrs. J.ames Johnson) of Arnolds Park; one son, Laurence, of Waynesvillle, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and other relatives.
