Asserts Opposition of Methodist Preachers Will Not Halt Building Plans. Undaunted by the resolutions passed by the Methodist Preachers’ Association, in which the members of the assoct ion went on record as opposing the building of the proposed Cadle taber nacle on the site of the old Fletcher homestead, Ohio and New Jersey strectar Howardt Cadle, who an nounced last week his plane for the con struction of the permanent tabernacle In honor of his mother, declared yester day evening that, he Intended to go and with the project and make It a Hicesatul unit in the city, Mr. Cadle xpresed his regret that some of the local ministers fooked with disfavor of the proposed tabernacle, but he insisted that the receipt of countless letters and immersuges from advocates of his original plans encouraged him to carry them out, EP do not hold any Ih fecting against tthe ministers who expressed opposition to my plans in the Cadle tabernacle,” said Mr. Cadle, “and I am going to try to gain their co-operation in the pro socct, I have received so many expres sions of encouragement from various people, urging me to go ahead with the plans, that I am going to stick with the iden and build the new tabernacle.” Letters Favor Project. Mr. Cadle exhibited a pile of letters and notes from people friendly to the iCadle Vabernaels plans. With a sweep let his hand toward the letters, he salds “I feel sure that with such backing as ‘that I can go alad dheap the opposition ‘manifested by the Ministerial Associa tion. ‘The city does need such a build ‘ing. Hotel men today told me that they were going on record favoring the tab ernacle in the interests of national con ventions which may be brought to In- Alanapolla. The Gipsy Smith choir, of which 2 am the president, also has promised to stand back of me. i ‘A meeting of the Gipsy Smith choir will be held in Wormingen hall tonight, Mr Cadle aaid Be produced a Witel which had been’ mailed to all members’ of the choir, notifying them of the re hearsal for the Memorial day concert, which will be held on the Monument steps at 930 o'clock. “I am mighty glad to tell you that four prayers have been answered in the way of having a permanent building to ‘keen our ‘great choir’ together,’ the letter read, as written by Mr. Cadle, “this choir has inspired the writer and by the leadership of God to do this great thing. There are going to be many hills to limb and many a valley to go through, as no one has ever ac complished anything for the Master un less the devil tried to get in and over throwt, but by your help and ‘your prayers we will give to the city of In+ dianapolis music that will be worth while and will be popular when all the ‘jazé' becomes stagnant. So I ask your hearly co-operation and your prayers in this@#enterprise “We are going to arrange for our meetings, until we get the building done, in the open air on the top that the writer has purchased for the tabernacle. There will be some im pportant questions befor the choir Thursday might to decide whether we shall have a pipe organ or a plano in the new building and other questions, do we ask that you let no other en gagerment Interfere with this night, I will be looking for you, and if you do not come, I will be disappointed.” Dr. Fife Scores Opponents, The Rev J. Rey Fife, pastor of the Sixth Christian Church and alga man ager of the Becker Rooting Companys. In a letter to Mr. Cade, wrote in part, “y pope, Brother Cadle, that you will be big enough to complete your plans re gardless of the opposition of these peor ple, who, I feel, place something else ahead of our ford. Indianapolia cer tainly needy and must bhave such a tabernacle as you are planning on build ing, a place where the pure gospel of Christ can be preached at all times The great trouble with most of the so- called big Indianapolis ministers is that they are more concerned with their own position and the building up of denomi nationalism than they are to win souls for our Lord an Savior, Jesus Christ ” Miss Daisy Johnson, 4174 Broadway, a member of the Gipsy Smith choir; Lefa Nida of the Indiana National bank; Irma Snyder, 1230 Tandenatreet: the ev. J. C. McCaulin, Paul W. Davis of the Bradstreet Company; Marcur Keller of Shoals, Ind. J. T. Staty, county superintendent of the children’s division, Mallon County Sunday School Association, and Wesley H. Small, poe parintendent of the Weasley M. BE. Sun day Schoal are among backers of the Cadle tibernacle project. Mr Small deeiges the opposition of the mnisters, who he said, ‘could not aoe any farther than the end of their wae.
