These annual commencements in the educational work) engender new life, revive school activities and in crease popular interest in public adu ptsonnel institutions. They create Vigor, inspire hope and fire a student body with an ambition to do and to be something worthwhile in the mace of life. They bring the school and public, the teachers and the home into closer touch with each other. On three occasions there is a renewed bart of sympathy, coop eration and devotion that binds more closely, (he common interests of the school and home, it seems as though the very Bite-blood of the school community pulsates with great er rapidly all in more perfect rhy thm. Commencement in a season that brings pleasure and joy to the teacher and patron, holds gut en couragement and hope to the perse vering Junior and gives satisfaction and compensation to the —— and faithful Senior. True to the season, the Cheekidnne ment exercises of the Payetteville High School were held, Friday night last, in the high school auditorium, before the largest and most appreciat ive audience that ever assembled at the high school. The prognam Ten dered was superior to those of prev ious years, god the themes assign ed for discussion by the graduates had been cont aptly chosen. Each of the nine graduates had been required to write a thesis on some practical subject, seven of these theme prewmted in as “Clase Program’? on Thursday afternoon, leaving but two, the “Close Histar)” by Mies Ethel Dotcom and “The if ficient Man’ by Mr. Aleth Zoli for the graiuating programn.
