The conditions and circa Instances are too sad to contemplate, The. actions of an insane man are not to be accounted for and he should not be blamed. The charity of the good people of Pomeroy is appealed to for both the victim and his fam-Ah to the future disposition of the paper it will depend largely upon the business men of the com m unity.The following extract from the Manson Journal, no dobut explains the situation in an unprejudiced man n e:The Insane Com mission met at Pomeroy Wednesday and examined into the mental' condition of E. B. Harmon, editor of the Pomeroy Herald, and at once came to the conclusion that he was of unsound mind and should be sent to the asylum. He was taken in charge by Sheriff Riseley and taken to Cherokee this afternoon. It is one of the Baddest and most deplorable cases that has come to our mind in many years. Mr. Harmon has been a slave to his work and has made the Herald a good paying newspaper property but he has done it at the expense of his health and no doubt a final breaking down of his mind. For the past tyro years it has been coming on him. A portion of hia actions have been completely unacounfc-able to him. At such times he has been totally oblivious as to what he did or where he was at. Financial troubles have added to his worry, as well as other matters and it is not at all auprising that he has finally succumbed. The blow haB come with crushing effect upon his family. Mrs. Larmon is completely prostrated over the sad affair. She had no knowledge of Ed’s trouble until Tuesday, It is impoBsible to tell just what disposition will be made of the Herald, although at the prer sent time the plan is for the business men of the town to form a stock company to purchase the plant. Under complete rest and proper treatment it is believed Mr, Larmon will reoover and be fully restored to health and strength.For Sale.The plant and good will of tho Pomeroy Herald is for sale, at a reasonable figure.
