A Mule Killed by Lightning. On Saturday night Mr. Wesley Thaxton had a mule killed undervery peculiar circumstances. On Sunday morning it w as found deadin a stall in his barn, with no marks of violence on its bod}’ and with no appearance of a struggle while dying. A thunder storm had passed over during the night and upon a close examination some slight signs of a stroke of lightning was lound on the ham, and it is supposed the mule was killed by the same. There were two other horses in the barn in other stalls and some cattle in the lot near by, but received no injury. The loss is somewhat heavy on Mr. Thaxton and we extend our sympathies.
