Suicides.—On Thursday morning last, Simon Dnnn, of Bath township, in this county, committed suicide by banging himself on his porch a few hours before daylight.Mr. Dunn has filled the office of County Commissioner, served two terms in the lower branch of the Legislature—1833 and 1834—and fourteen years as Associate Judge of the Court of Common Fleas, lie was about 70 years of age, in good circumstances, and highly respected in his neighborhood. The cause ot this rash termination of his own existence is attributed to intemperance. His | death is much regretted by those who knew him He leaves a large circle ot relative* « 11 friends.About two weeks since William Chambers, of the same township, was returning from Dayton, and when about two miles from that city was thrown from his horse, alighting on his head and shoulders, and as was supposed considerably hurt.After sitting a few minutes at the place of his tail,he got up and started of! on foot. From that time until last Sunday morning nothing was heard of him, and Mad Kiver was dragged for many miles in hope of finding his body. A hand bill offering $50 for his recovery, was issued by his friends.—; On Sunday morning last his body was found inMad River about two mike from the place where he was thrown from his horae. But little doubt appears to be entertained, but that he committed suicide; but whether laboring under temporal y insanity produced by the fall front his horae or not remains in doubt. At the time of the accident hewas under the influence ot intoxicating liquor.— Mr. Chambers wna a man in comfortable circum stances, and highly respected in his neighborhood.He waa by no means addicted to intemperance.— His death is regretted by all who knew him.—Xenia Torch Light.
