RHS girls ’ soccer team never scored upon in perfect GNC seasonBy Connor KuczmarskiHODAGSPORTS.COMThe Rhinelander High School girls’ soccer team made history on Thursday night with a dominating 4-0 victory over the Medford Raiders in Medford. The Lady Hodags took sole possession of the GNC crown, going 6-0 over the shortened spring season, and became the first team in GNC history to not allow a single goal in the conference season.“We went into this game with two goals,” RHS soccer coachDan Millot said. “We wanted sole possession of the conference championship and we wanted to complete our (conference) season with perfect shutouts. We accomplished both of those goals tonight and I couldn't be more proud of the girls.”The Hodags came out motivated and dominated the Raiders in every facet of the game. The Hodags first goal came off the boot of Gabbe Millot at the 19:06 mark off an assist from Molly Willging. Jessica Lucas sent the score to 36:39 when she headed in a corner kick from Millot. KiahSexton scored on a penalty kick at 39:43 and, with eight seconds remaining in the half, Katelyn Krug stole the kick off and blazed down the field, ultimately assisting Millot on the goal that would bring the game to its final margin.“All of our goals were in the first half,” coach Millot said. “We did what we needed to do in the second half to maintain the shutout and we got to play every girl on the roster. We moved girls around to different positions and secured our perfect shutout and conference season.”The Hodags outshot Medford 23-3 and 14-2 in shots on goal.See Champs, Page 4B
