Several Ada High seniors were recognized in various areas of athletic and academic excellence during the annual Awards Assembly held at 10 a.m. today in the Robert S. Kerr Activities Center. Scholarships, awards and special recognitions went to local young people graduat ing in this year’s Class of 1976. Students whose works were accepted for publication in the National Essay Anthol ogy are Deidre Walker, Steve Garner, Marianne Evans, Kathy Thomas, Debber Bin gaman and Larry Cartmell. Students with creations slated for publication in the annual Anthology of High School Poetry are Kelly Stephens and Steve Garner. Regional winners of the Pride in Oklahoma Essay Contest are Larry Cartmell and Kathy Thomas. Ranking first through third in the Women’s Christian Temperance Union Essay Contest are Jo Ann Morgan, Nancy Watters and Cheryle Hooker, respectively. The Bicentennial Seniors Certificate of Recognition went to LiAnn Gonzales; Betty Crocker Search for Leadership in Family Living Award, Carol Hunt; Masonic Lodge Students of the Year Awards, Sonja Davis and Roger Hill and Contrahoma of the Year Award, Tracy O'Neal. Pre-Grad Frolic Ada High School seniors spent Monday at the annual Sheep Creek outing to unwind before preparing for graduation set at 8 p.m. tonight at the Kerr Activities Center.
