Kofi Athey, head of the Pottery Museum at Jos, Nigeria, who serves as transla tor Ladi Kwali. Her tours have introduced Kwali and her pottery to England and Germany, where her work was highly ac claimed. An article on her pot tery appeared In the Hill issue of “Craft Horizons,” and one on Cardew and his champion ship of Nigerian pottery was carried in the February issue of the magazine. Cardew, who is the author of “Pioneer Pottery,’ a recently published book on this subject. The high point of the pro gram will be at 3:30 p.m. when Ladi Kwali will hand build and decorate a large water jar, using the traditional methods of her native village. At 7 p.m., following a break for dinner, Cardew will demon strate on the potter’s wheel. The program is open to the public. Registration fee of $5 includes the lecture and both demonstrations.
