Single car accident Sat. takes 3 livesAI A®**** **• Burroughs, IB, Mlta Debra Joa* Buokatow, 14, and CraigAUn Light, 15, who warn bulled bar* Tuesday following a fetal Saturday cvcnh aoutfa of town.Gloom descended over tha Hamburg community Saturday night when it was teamed that three local students had been hilled as the result of a one-car accident nine miles south of Hamburg at 8 p.m. Saturday.A fourth sustained extensive injuries to his face, and is now hospitalized here.Dead at the accident scene were Angela Rae Burroughs,15, daughter of Mrs. Dee Gude, Hamburg, and Clair Burroughs, Omaha, and Craig Alan Light, 15, son of Ronald Leroy Light of Hamburg, and Mrs. Marcella Kuntz waiter, Shenandoah.The third victim, Debra Jone Buckalew, 14, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Buck* lew, Hamburg, died an hour after being admitted to Grape Community Hospital.Mike Ladd, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ladd, dnver of the car, received a broken jaw, loss of front teeth and portions of his front jaw bone, facial cuts, and other injuries. He was taken to Omaha Sunday for extenwve oral surgery, then returned to the hospitalher*.The accident occurred on the “Herron” bridge nine miles south of Hamburg on Highway 275, as the young people were driving to Rook Port to attend the movies. It appeared die car had struck the right bridge abutment, bounced into die left side of the bridge, then turned completely around and stopped, headed back north on the left side of the road.Services for Craig Light were held at the Rash Funeral Home Tuesday at 10 a.m. with die Rev. Keith Hamilton in charge. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery. He is survived by three brothers, Roger, Rodney and Steven, two half-sisters, Juii Ann and Linda Kay; grandparents, Mrs. Mildred Light, Hamburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Fkctiff, Ottumwa.Miss Burroughs is survived by her parents; one brother, Anthony, in service; two half-brothers, Tommy and Timmy of Omaha, one sister, Renee,Hamburg; grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Marion Carter, Skidmore, and Mrs. Lula Burroughs of Coin. Burial was from the First Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in tha Hamburg Cemetery. Rev. Hamilton was in charge or services.Miss Buckalew is survived by her parents; two brothers, Curtis and Lawrence; grandparents, Mrs. Irene Buckalew, Newton, and Robert Elliott of Chariton. A great grandmother, Mrs. Alice Harvey, lives at Indianola. Services were held at the First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Donald Brail officiating. Burial was in Hamburg Cemetery.All were Hamburg school students, with Miss Buckalew in the 8th grade, Miss Burroughs in the 9th grade, and Light a sophomore. Junior high and high school were dismissed after the first class Tuesday so students could attend the funerals of their classmates.Rash Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
