The Saloon Situation.Three saloons of this city close by the provisions of the new local option law tomorrow (Wednesday) night at eleven o’clock, and will not be opened again. They are those of Tony Schmidt, Alva Beevers and Joe Reynolds.As to the two cases of Arthur Baldwin and James Hall, a test case has been arranged for. One or both of them will open up Thursday morning long enough for It to be a violation of the law, If It should be a violation, and Marshal Beamer will buy something. He will then make an affidavit before the Mayor for the arrest of the violator, If such he be, and the case will be tried that morning before Judge Schoonover, the arrangement having been made this (Tuesday) morning by Fred S. Purnell. Should the Judge decide for the saloon-keepers, then they will run until Oct. 0. Should It be against them, they will not reopen.
