Funeral services for Herbert H. Vollendorf, long time Northwest Side businessman, were held Saturday at Halleman Funeral home, 4138 North.Mr. Vollendorf, owner of the food store bearing his name at 3944 North, died May 17 at the age of 66.He had been very active in the North-Crawford Chamber of Commerce and had served as an officer of the chamber and as a member of its board of directors.Born July 27, 1901, Mr. Vollendorf was a member of Park Ridge lodge 988, AF and AM; Maine Shrine club; Medinah temple, AAONMS, and the Chi-cagoland Sertoma club.* * *He is survived by his widow, Viva M.; a daughter, Vivagean V. Mertz; a son, Herbert Jr.; a sister, Clara Fiebing, and four grandchildren.Interment was in Ridgewoodcemetery.
