The Theatrical WorldTalented Young Pianist PresentedinRecital at Crispus AttucksI' AST flight in the Crispus At-^ tucks High School auditorium Miss Nerlasa Brokenburr, talented Negro artist, established herself as a highly interesting concert pianist.Tribute to her was paid both withflowers which went over the footlights, as well as applause afterevery group. \ -i ‘She displayed technique that many a more experienced player would envy, and at the same time she possessed an understanding of the concert platform which is remark-able. . '•* r. ''p. 3Her concert last night showed the results of careful study. Miss Brokenburr opened with Bach s Partita No. 1. B flat Major,” and followed that with tthe charmingly interpreted ‘ Papillon s Op 2. by Robert Schumann. She revealed splendid shading and interpretation.;Then followed a group of Brahms. ' ending with his Rhapsody Op 79. No. 1 She completed her recital by playing Ravel's prelude, Rigau-don.'’ minuet and tocatto as suitefor piano. iMiss Brokenburr definitely indicated that she will go far in the rental field, and as she goes farther in her studies her future will be watched carefully.
