OBITUARY. ---- Nelson -Owetr Nelson Owen, one of our most beloved friends* paaaed to his reward Thura-day of last week, aged 71 years, 9 months and 18 days. With his death this vicinity loses a good Christian and more, for he was also a good man and respected and loved by all who knew him. He was bom in WeBtfleld township, Medina— .ytfn July SI, 1844, and, with the exg£ption of a few months, has lived just north of Creston all of his lifeOn January 1, 1868, he was united in marriage to Durtha Smith of near West Salem, and it is fact worthy of note that Mr. and Mrs Owen have spent every anniversary of their wedding together in their own home, except one To this union were born. three sons, or,e of whom died in infancy, | The funeral was held from the Pres- i byterian church, of which be was a' member, at the regular hour for service Sunday morning, Kev Wm Smith conducted the service, assisted by Kev j E. R. Roraig of the M E. church and j Kev. Hartman of Wooster, former pas- j tor of the U B church at this place. Burial was made in the Seville ceme-tery ,Mr Owen was one of the best known and beat thought of men in this part of | the country. He was a pioneer resident j and was a farmer all of his life with the exception of a few years when he j drove stage coach. jThe Journal force will miss his visits i as though he were one of their own. | We will miss his good natured andkindly manner and the political argu-1I ments we used to have. There has been but a few times when he did not | [ stop in at our office for a chat when 1 down town, and it grieves U9 to realize I tnat we will no more hear the tap of 1 his cane as he would come in with some ( new Joke to catch us with. But after all ho was a man, fl good man, a kind , and lovable man, and as we look for the resurrection, so do we look for-- ward to the meeting of this just man I who has gone before. jMr Owen it survived by his wife, 1 two sons, Harman Owen of Cleveland, R I) Ow'en of Creston, and three \ grandchildren
