Obituary.A splendid woman, possessing every grace of character and noble quality of true womanhood, quietly departed this life at 4:30 o'clock Monday after- j noon when Mrs. Phoebe Norris answer- j ed the summons of the death angel at ] her home on South Walnut street. !Of a quiet, retiring disposition, Mrs. Norris was a woman whose friendship was true, who never wavered in her duties to her home, her children and friends, whose heart was so large that she had th*e most earnest sympathy and love for all.Reared in the Dunkard church, to which she belonged all her life. Mrs. Norris’ religious convictions were not at all affected by modernism and her1 faith in the Supreme Master was beautiful to behold and gave to her life a divine luster, which was abiding for time and eternity.Mrs. Norris was born in November! 11, 1828, in ^Dayton, her birthplace being the old log cabin which is now preserved as the historic dwelling of the Gem City. She was the daughter of Daniel Miller, one of the pioneer residents of Dayton. After her marri-; age to Mr. Norris the family finally removed to Troy, where Mrs. Norris has since resided.The children surviving to whom she has bequeathed a rich legacy in a life well spent are: Mrs. Emma Best, of Winchester, Ind., Mrs. Ottie Stump, of Danville, 111., Mrs. Jennie N. Stephens, of Troy, Charles and J. A. NorriB of Los Angeles. Cal., and Will Norris, of Troy.The funeral services will be held at the home at 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. France, pastor of the Pleasant Hill Dunkard church, of which Mrs. Norris was a member. Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery.—Troy, Ohio, News.
