Rev. J. A. Lewellen, a former pastor of the local M. E. church, passed away at his home in Muncie on Thursdaymorning of last week, after two months illness, aged 03 years. He is survived by a widow and six sons. The deceased was a native of the West part of this county where he resided until twenty years of age when he engaged in teaching school in Delaware County. In 1873 he entered the ministry of the M. E. church and had many charges. He served as presiding elder of the Warsaw district from 1895 to 1901, when he was superannuated and moved back to near his former hom« in this county.Eighteen months™ ago he moved toMuncie where he- has since resided. He was considered one of the many able ministers who have had charge of the church here. Funeral services were held in the High Street M. E. church at Muncie Saturday ^afternoon, the sermon being by Rev* H. J. Norris. Interment at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
