The IVabash and JErle Canal X,eascd.We are Informed that a party of prominent and influential gentlemen, residents of the Wahasli Valley, have concluded an arrangement with the Trustees for the leasing of the Canal for a period of four years. The details of the contract have not fully transpired, but we are advised that it is proposed to form a joint stock Company with a limited capital of $50,000 for the operation and maintenance of the Canal, with all powers in regard to tolis. water rents, lt;fcc», that is now vested in the Trustees. It is understood that lion. Mr. Edaerton, of Hicksvilie.i— i »Ohio, is to be the Managing Director, and ! 1 on J. L. Williams, of Ft Wayne, Chief Engineer. The stock of the Company will soon be taken, and the Canal is to be put in thorough navigable order for the approaching harvest—Lafayette Cvuritr.
