Hall at Pearl Harbor.Six hundred WAVES and their escorts from every branch of service swayed on the outdoor dance floor to rhythms served up by Ray Anthony and his band, exchanged chatter in the modernistic lounge room, and helped themselves to free cokes in the snack bar.Dozens of leis were in evidence Colorful Navy signal flags soared over the band stand designed by Lieut. Orrin Tucker.Recreation Officer Lieut, (jg) Helen Witmyer of Lancaster, Pa., commented, “This looks like the beginning of many nights of, wholesome fun for these fellas and gals.Lieut. Cmdr, Eleanor G. Rigby, in charge of WAVES in the 14th Naval District, agreed. “It's a grand place, and I’m sure the girls are going to have lots of fun.” There will be date dances nightly, except Monday and Friday.ft
