SIDE MEETS0 MAKE PROTESMass Gathering Scheduled for Tonight in SeventeenthWard Hall.To protest against nonrepresentatlon on the city planning committee, which was appointed to assist George E, Kessler Jn tho zoning of Salt Lake, people of the west side of the city will gather tonight In, the Seventeenth ward meeting house*Tho meeting was called late last week, dodgers getting forth the grievances of the residents of the west side being generally circulated over that part of the city.According to property owners west of Main street, there will he many tilings to consider in their complaintsagainst alleged discrimination. Theysay that the zoning will go forward without representation from their part, of the city and they fear that the results will be disastrous to them.Fears that the encroachment of railroads and coalyards will swallow up their property values have also beijn expressed and there is now pending before the commission a protest against permitting the Utah Power and Light company to haul coal over the tracks of the street railway on North Temple street to the big heating plant In the center of the block west of West Temple street,Action has been held up for one cause or another and the west striers are prepared to demand final action tonight. The proposed parking of First West street from South Temple street north to the city limits will also be considered.J. Leo Fairbanks, representing the planning commission, will be on hand to explain the zoning process to the Protestants and representatives from the southern half of tho west side will hear reports concerning the building of a spur track to the McDonald candy factory, which has been protested by residents of that district.r/r ren a Jim c t*-* r rnr
