From a firm conviction that ! a .National Bank is iudispensihle to a sound j circulating medium, and of its powerful agency in correcting such evils and em- j ban;*ssmenfs as at present pervade our country, we are constraiued to advocate its 1 establishment with zeal, and with all the ability we can bring to our aid. We are j opposed to the leading measures of the present administration, and will sustain Whig principles. °Our Democratic friends need not be deterred from extending their patronage to the Intelligencer from an apprehension of wounded ‘sensibility, as we have deter-mined to exclude all offensive mutter.
