MeArton, mates strike diJennifer Me Arton of Winnipeg’s Pan-Am Divers soared to three gold medals in the 15-17 class at the 15th annual national age-group diving championships which concluded yesterday in Edmonton, She andteammdtes Deanne McClenaghan andCathy Jacobson swept the medals in both the three-metre and one-metre springboard events. McArton and Jacobson picked up a gold and bronze, respectively, in the 10-metre tower event. The three were selected to the national team along with Thompson’s 13-year-old Kelly Harber. Joining the trio in the Can-Am-Mex, which will be held this fall in St. John’s, Nfld., are PAD’s 15-year-old Mark Fromson and Thompson s 12-year-old Leslie Hansen. Jayne McDonald was selected coach for the Canadian team. She is an assistantLOCAL DIGESTcoach to Jim Lambie of the Pan-Am Divers.
