THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC is a dangerous thing, according to the 30 year old Rev. John Todd, a native of Columbus, when he visited here last week on a religious crusade. His purpose was to warn local “kids against getting involved with the occult.”In his religious lectures he spoke from personal and bad experience. He himself for six years was a satan worshipper until he became converted recently to Christianity. Now as an ordained minister, Todd is trying to undo some of the damage he did as a ruler over black magic covens.“There are 45 witches covens in Columbus alone,” he explained. “In bhio there are 500 witches covens operating ... with an estimated 1,000 independent witches practicing Black Art.Members in the occult world are as secretive and undercover as dope pushers,” Todd continued, and he warns that interest in demonic churches and witchcraft is increasing.“There is no good magic, ” he maintains. “Seances and astrology are part of the black magic rituals. The druid and satanic churches operate on fear. When I made the break from witchcraft, coven members threatened my life. I had to hide from a terroist motorcycle gang who tried to run me down.”“The dangers of the occult are very real. During one of my crusades against occultism, I saved one of Jean Dixons main astrologer from this evil.”KISS AND TELL, as aphrase, has been displaced by TAPE AND TELL.TO MY DESK has come the new novel, “The Greek” by Pierre Rey, translated into English from the original FrenchAlready ‘The Greek” is an international best seller in 13 countries. Why? Because it is the giant inside novel of the fabulous jet-set of Europe, written straight out of the lives of Onassis, of his Greek shipbuilding brother-in-law and the Kennedys.Pierre Rey himself is Europe’s leading society journalist. His turgid story reads as if he had cribbed from his own juicy gossip columns about La Callas, Jackie and Jack Kennedy, and various Onassis sychophants. The novel doubles in interest as a Who’s Who guessing game.CONTINUED AND RIGHTFUL AMERICAN JURISDICTION over the Panama Canal is being patriotically supported by two US Congressmen from Columbus. Chalmers P. Wylie and Samuel Devine, despite opposition from Henry Kissinger who proposes to give the US Canal to Communist forces. This power he rightfully does not possess. Our two fine Columbus Congressmen with seven other US Legislators have introduced in the House of Representatives House Resolution 818 which opens With these words: ‘'Whereas US diplomatic representatives (eg. Kissinger) are presently engaged in negotiations with representatives of the de facto Revolutionary Government of Panama, under a declared purpose to surrender to Panama, United States sovereign rights to the Canal and Canal Zone; and Whereas title to and ownership of the Canal and the Zone were in perpetuity vested absolutely in the United States ... in certain solemnly ratified treaties, to wit, the Hay-Pauncefote Treaty of 1901; 'Whereas the United States purchased ail privately owned land in the Zone, making the Zone the most costly United States . teritorial possession:Whereas the United States constructed the Canal and has operated the Canal without interruption Whereas the United States has made a total investment in the Canal and its def ense at a cost to the taxpayers of the United States of over $5,695,745,000;Whereas the Canal is vital to the economy of the US; andWhereas the present treaty ‘ ( giveaway ) negotiations are being conducted by unauthorized diplomatic representatives under a cloak of unwarranted secrecy;Whereas under the Constitution, article IY, section 3, clause 2, the power to dispose of territory of the US is vested only in Congress;Be it resolved that the US should maintain and protect its sovereign rights and jurisdiction over the Canal and the Zone.”Kissinger and his secret diplomatic cohorts in no way have the right or the power to give our Panama Canal to revolutionary and communist forces. This resolution 818 needs your support.
